What is Pocket Boss?
Pocket Boss is a business operating system for small service and trade companies. It replaces the spreadsheet, the invoicing app, the scheduling whiteboard, and the notebook of leads with one app that works on your phone and your laptop.
What is inside?
- Home — a fifteen-minute glance: money collected, open invoices, pipeline, what needs you today
- Money — invoices, estimates, bank statements, P&L, economics, cost basis
- Customers — customers, leads, and a dossier on each contact
- Work — jobs, a drag-and-drop dispatch board, maintenance plans, your pricebook, service areas, service requests
- Growth — marketing library and social media
- Team & setup — techs, partners, integrations, settings
Who is Alli?
Alli is the AI assistant inside Pocket Boss and the one who texts your customers. She answers questions, qualifies leads, captures call-back requests, keeps notes on every contact, and keeps every reply short enough to read on a phone. You review what she did in the morning instead of doing it yourself at night.
Does it handle payments?
Yes. Invoices are paid by card or ACH bank transfer straight from the invoice, and the money lands in your account. Wholesale card processing and ACH are built in, not bolted on.
Is it only for plumbers?
No. Pocket Boss is a template: each business gets its own private database and only the modules it needs. The first live configuration is a plumbing company, and the same system fits cleaning, landscaping, HVAC, electrical, and most home-service trades.
What does it cost?
Plans start around $100 per month plus a one-time setup, with card processing and ACH priced transparently on the Pricing & Fees page. Text 580-910-9100 to see it on your own business.
A day inside Pocket Boss
7:15 am, phone in hand: Home shows $4,800 collected yesterday, two overdue invoices, nine new leads, and three things that need you. You tap "2 invoices overdue" and send reminders from the truck. Dispatch shows today's jobs on each tech's column; you drag one from "Needs scheduling" onto Dana. A customer texts "can you come Thursday?" and Alli answers, checks the board, and books a call-back. At 4 pm a finished job becomes an invoice, the customer pays by bank transfer, and the review request goes out on its own.
What makes it different from a stack of apps
- One login, one database. The job, the invoice, the customer, and the text thread are the same record.
- AI that acts, not just summarizes. Alli replies, qualifies, books, and takes notes.
- Payments built in. Wholesale card processing and ACH are part of the invoice, not a third-party plugin.
- A dashboard for owners. Big numbers, plain labels, light or dark, readable on a phone in the sun.
Mistakes to avoid when you start
- Skipping the pricebook: load your services and prices first so estimates are one tap
- Not adding your techs: the dispatch board is empty until they exist
- Turning off Alli's texting: she is the part that answers at 9 pm
The short version
Pocket Boss is the CRM, scheduler, invoicing, payments, and AI assistant for a small service business, in one app you can run from your pocket.
